Who Are Avon Wildlife Trust

Trust is an independent charity which is deeply-rooted within the local communities from which it was formed.

1980 We are a team of around 40, governed by an elected board of Trustees.

Over 30 nature

reserves 17,600+ members 535 volunteers

giving 5,500 hours per month

1,100 hectares of land for wildlife

Funding Successes 2017/18

  • Biffa awarded the Trust 46K to carry out habitat

restoration work in the Gordano Valley and

  • Banister Charitable Trust awarded the Trust 20K to carry
  • ut work on Puxton Moor SSSI.
  • This additional 66K strengthens the project’s landscape

scale delivery objectives and funds further staff time working in the area.

  • 60K Water Environment Grant (WEG) for a feasibility

study for a multi-functional constructed wetland at Nailsea
