  2. A BIT OF… HISTORY • Tecnoidea Impianti (in short T.I.) was born at the beginning of 80s as sales structure becoming later a manufacturing company where all main devices and components were self-engineered. • From 1985 to the beginning of 90s the main sector covered by T.I. was the stone processing industry (marble and granites) with small-medium size WTP and plate press, mainly installed in Italy and neighboring countries, in India, in North-Africa and South-America countries. • During 90s T.I. increase the production to complete a full set of machines for quarries and aggregates field and started to sell turn-key plants all over the word. • In the same years Abra Pompe was based; such sister company (sharing the some T.I. ownership) design and manufactures centrifugal pumps with abrasion resistant coatings. • In the following years (1995 – 2015), the acquired know-how, together with the expansion of the company personnel and skills, allowed T.I. to penetrate other industrial fields as ceramic, concrete, drilling, tunneling, soil remediation and all the sector involving wet process with mineral particles. • Tecnoidea Impianti today can list important references with approx. 3 ’ 000 installations worldwide, and can compete to the maximum level for treatment plants ranging from 1 ’ 000 l/min (approx. 270 gall/min) up to 20 ’ 000 l/min (5 ’ 200 gall/min) of waste waters, and with automatic plate presses for sludge dehydration, having capacity from 0.1 to over 10.0 m 3 /cycle. • All our activities are certified in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standard, and all the plants can be engineered to fulfill any international requirements (CE , UL, CSA and all the needed certification). • Giving priority to the projects success and to customer satisfaction, T.I. now proudly claim the total absence of any litigation and legal dispute all around the world, an interesting result considering the installation of 4 plants per month (average figure: 2000 - 2016). 2

  5. Pos. Description PROCESS OVERVIEW A Waste Water to Primary Stage (Water Clarification) At a first coarse level, the overall treatment process can B Clear water from 1° stage (ca. 90% recycle of total water) be summarized with the following Block Flow diagram. C Clear water back to the industrial process D Thickened sludge to 2° stage (with 30-40% dry solid) E Filtered water back to 1° stage (ca. 5% recycle of total water) F Dehydrated sludge cakes (with 70-85% dry solid) output C X Fresh water adding to compensate for water losses (ca. 5% ) Tertiary treatment (3° Stage, optional) X X B Industrial wet process A D F Water clarification Sludge dehydration generating Dehydrated (1° Stage) (2° Stage) waste water sludge cakes Section «A» Section «B» E Tecnoidea Impianti Battery Limit 5

  6. FLOCCULATION Water Clarification CORE process Flocculation is the key process in the clarification stage. Suspended solids are chemically destabilized and forced to aggregate into bigger flocks thanks to the addition of a chemical solution (polymer based). 23. R&D - LABORATORY A KEY RESOURCE Even if sludge and wate waters may be coarsely classified on an experience and empirical basis, each one has specific chemical and physical properties that generates clarification and dehydration different behaviours. Laboratory tests are paramount to design the most efficient and reliable clarification and filtration process Experimental studies of physical-chemical processes for wastewater treatment applications at a pilot scale Physical-chemical characterization of sludge and waste water Material gradations analysis Flocculation tests through for the definition of optimal process and reagents Filtration tests of sludge originated from wastewater treatment at laboratory or pilot scale 23

  24. R&D - LABORATORY PILOT PLATE PRESS TEST TOOLS AND DEVICES Built as a scale reduction of a production plate press, and working at its nominal pressure, this device symulates the entire filtration process, allowing to cast an accurate prediction of the complete plant performances Sludge solids gradation and physical conditions impact directly on filtration time. This test is capable of defining proper filtration time of customer’s sluge samples, that reflects on the correct press dimensioning. This way customer is safe that the selected press is: - Large enougth to manage all the sludge production fulfilling the project specifications, avoiding the risk of selecting a smaller and insufficient press - Not larger than needed, allowing a cost saving in purchasement and maintenance phases 24
