  • ARRT through Maynard and Acton is a 3.42-

mile long segment of a multi-use recreational trail.

  • Work includes;

– Construction of paved 8 to 12 foot wide multi-use recreational trail with one to two foot graded stone dust shoulders on either side; – Construction of a parking lot at Winter Street and Florida Road; – Replacement of the existing pedestrian bridge

  • ver the Assabet River in downtown Maynard

with a 65’ long prefabricated steel truss bridge.

  • May 1997: The five ARRT communities (Marlborough, Hudson,

Stowe, Maynard, and Acton) received $668,000 in state funding to acquire the rights-of-ways of the former rail line

  • September 2002: The town of Maynard acquires all necessary land

rights to allow for the construction of the ARRT

  • October 2004: ARRT volunteers completed a 12 month effort to

clear and place woodchips on two sections of the trail, each 1000 feet in length. The woodchips create an interim walking path, until the final bike path is built.

  • November 2011: Maynard/Acton 25% Design completed by AECOM
  • March 2014: Rail road rails removed from length of trail in Maynard

& Acton

Resource Area Impact Summary

slide-12
SLIDE 12

Impact Summary

  • Total Permanent and temporary vegetated wetland alteration is 635.73 square feet.
  • Based on the “no-rise” results of the hydraulic analyses1, compensatory storage volume is

not being proposed for the BLSF embankment encroachment at Taylor Brook and the transitional ramp fill in Tobin Park. Work within BLSF will not restrict flows or result in an increase in flood stage or velocity.

  • Total 200-foot Riverfront Area is approximately 255,275 square feet.

Total 200-foot Riverfront Area alteration is approximately 54,181 square feet, of which 17,190 square feet is within the Inner 100-feet. 27,875 of the 54,528 square feet (51%) of Riverfront Area to be impact in Maynard is Previously Developed Riverfront Area under the Act at 310 CMR 10.58 (5). Additionally, 117 square feet of Riverfront area alteration is associated with a limited project.
