MediaPro Studios. A primer.

MediaPro Studios is Eastern Europe’s largest and longest established film studio, with a tradition in cinema spanning over 60 years. The Studio is part MediaPro Entertainment, the content creation and production arm of Central European Media Enterprises, the region’s largest content creator and distributor. With production services, facilities and over 25 TV stations in 6 countries, Time Warner-backed CME is the largest player of the area in the industry. We provide the highest standard of production and post-production services, first-class client service, experienced staff, state-of-the-art equipment and technology. MediaPro Studios are a fit for a wide range of projects from feature films, television series and miniseries, music videos, commercials, advertising or even special events.

By this, MediaPro Studios can function as a regional, trans-border entity for production purposes, giving you access to facilities, resources and talent across Central Europe, not to mention essential local know-how. MediaPro Studios’ 19 stages in Buftea, Romania are now the center of a regional network of facilities. Dozens of

STAGES

The studio grounds cover almost 100 acres, including access to a lake and a forest park. A total of 19 sound-stages cover 234,000 sq ft (21,500 sq m) All stages are fully equipped for film productions and come in various sizes, including twin-stage format. The largest has 45,200 sq ft (4200 sq m) and it can easily accommodate extensive sets. 4 stages come with indoor water tanks fit for underwater filming, including the largest one in Continental Europe (124x65x16 ft/ 37,7x19,7x5 m). Every stage can be completely green- screened. Standing sets are shoot-ready, and our backlot (over 25 acres) offers all the space you need for additional set building

SET CONSTRUCTION

Started with the lavish sets of the 50s and 60s, MediaPro Studios tradition sets us apart as the most experienced and dedicated builders in the region. For more than 50 years the Studio has been providing a full range of set construction services. We rely on a highly trained and experienced staff of full-time employees and an additional crews of freelancers. With our studio’s integration in MediaPro Entertainment and CME, our set construction services have now been expanded to include all territories where CME is active.

EQUIPMENT

From cameras, lenses, camera grip, video equipment and dolly grip to lighting equipment and accessories, we have everything that is needed to shoot your vision. Our camera pool ranges from 35mm film cameras to the latest ARRI Alexa packages. MediaPro Studios is offering its clients a complete technical inventory, the latest technology and best professional expertise for outstanding results from both an aesthetic and cost effective point of view.

SFX

MediaPro Studios is the only studio complex in Central and Eastern Europe to have an in-house special effects department. The team is supervised by Academy Award Winner for Special Effects, Nick Allder. The department covers a complete SFX package, from atmospheric effects (i.e. fog, wind, rain, haze, snow, ice and icicles, flood) to pyrotechnical (i.e. controlled explosions, fires, cannons, indoor or

• utdoor fireworks, full body burns) and mechanical

effects (with hydraulic and pneumatic pistons, cables and air mortars).They are also ready to support the technical aspects of special shoots – such as shooting underwater in submerged sets.

PROPS & COSTUMES

The studio owns an impressive collection of 30,000 costumes ranging from Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque period up to the contemporary age. Of equal scale, MediaPro Studios’ collection of props encompasses all fields and ages, from medieval furniture and weapons to modern and future items. The key to these expansive collections is the studio’s costume and props manufacturing workshops, with a capacity almost limitless in range and scale. With the Studio’s region-wide network, we can provide access to props and costumes from partner territories, exponentially increasing the choices offered.

POSTPRODUCTION &VFX

The CGI/Post production facilities we have developed over the last few years are both a first and exclusive. MediaPro Studios offers complete pre-production, production and post-production services including on set supervision, video editing (Avid or Final Cut), sound services (dialogue editing and mixing, ADR recording, sound effects, sound mixing and multi-format delivery), character design, digital

• ptical effects and environments.

POSTPRODUCTION &VFX

The Postproduction & VFX Team built visual worlds for dozens of productions such as Terry Gilliam's Zero Theorem, The Shocate (S3D), Flowers of War, Saw 7(3D), The Timber, Six Bullets, One in the Chamber, Assassination Games, and Fire & Ice: The Dragon Chronicles and many Romanian features (Sweet Little Lies, I'm an old communist hag, HoHoHo2 - A family lottery) and numerous commercials (Alaska, Procter&Gamble, Petrom).
