Meeting the Needs of Growth, Improving Mobility

  • The Mayors’ Plan will increase the percentage of the

region with access to the Frequent Transit Network, even as the region grows by 1 million more residents.

  • By 2045, 70% the region’s residents will be within

walking distance of high-quality transit service arriving at least every 15 minutes, throughout the entire day and into the evening.

The Plan is funded by both users and taxpayers

The Plan calls for a $7.5 billion capital investment in the region’s transportation network. Investment is supported in 3 ways:

  • New fare revenue from

increased transit service

  • Tolling of a new

  • New regional funding

source generating at least $250 million per year, initially as the congestion improvement tax

  • Introduction of
