Northrop, Howard Hughes and Donald Douglas; as well as the thousands of local suppliers. Supporting Aerospace and Defense

  • Los Angeles remains the largest manufacturing hub in the United States

  • 25,000 firms classified as manufacturing
  • The Mayor took a strong position on aerospace when he assumed office, having an

industry liaison, and leading the SoCal region in efforts to improve the industrial ecosystem around the A&D industry.

  • Lobbying Defense Dept to keep Los Angeles Air Force Base and supporting Northrop

Grumman for the $60 billion Long Range Strike Bomber contract in Palmdale (thousands

  • AMP SoCal & IMCP Designation: Resulting in $140M in federal dollars to the region, and
  • ver $1B in leveraged investments as a result of the designation.
  • AMP SoCal Partners worked with over A&D companies that will receive over $28M in state

tax credits via CA Competes, with their commitment to invest over $1B into the region.

  • Mayor’s Aerospace Liaison is the Chair of the Site & Infrastructure Development Pillar

Committee, in addition to serving on the Executive Council.
