Market analysis

  • Focus on entrepreneurial journalism has been recommended

by Department of Journalism’s advisory board along with industry leaders such as Columbia Journalism Review, Poynter and Niemen Foundation

  • Fewer than five programs exist nationwide
  • The only online program that blends conceptual and applied

courses in journalism with principles of entrepreneurship

  • Will allow students to take a program that provides the skills

necessary to succeed in today’s journalism industry

number is expected to increase

  • Colorado expects a 14.4% growth in jobs in the information

delivery industry from 2016 to 2026

  • Three of the nine required courses are part of the regular

rotation of courses in the Journalism MA program and require no additional faculty

  • Six courses – those being taught in the 5-week modules – will

require either adjunct faculty or teaching overloads for current faculty

add online students to the Augmester Media Technology Boot Camp
