Challenge Overview

  • March into May 2019 is a 9-week

Employee Wellness program in which you can earn points for steps taken.

  • The program will run from Friday, March

1st through Wednesday, May 1st.

  • The average goal of 457,500 steps is

based on walking at least 7,500 steps for 61 days. Do not worry too much about that number, we want you to keep moving and track your steps for at least 50 days!

How do I register for the challenge?

  • 1. Go to our Employee Wellness

web page.

  • 2. Click on the ‘Long-Term

Programs’ tab/button.

  • 3. Click on the “here” embedded

link to bring you to the registration form.

  • 4. Complete the registration

form by providing your name, email address, and by indicating whether or not you’d like to register as an individual or team.

  • 5. NOTE: You must register by

Thursday, February 28th to participate in this challenge.

  • Each registered participant will receive an ‘Employee

Wellness Activity Log’ journal. *Note: those who participated in our ‘Fall into Wellness’ challenge will use the same log given to participants in the fall.

  • At the end of each week or day (personal preference -

whichever you think will keep you accountable), you will log your steps taken in your activity log.

  • Example:
  • Day 1: 8, 500 steps
  • Week 1: 80,000 steps
  • Participants can track their steps using their personal

activity tracking device (i.e. Fit Bit, Apple Watch, Garmin, etc.).

  • If you did not participate in the ‘Fall into Wellness’ challenge,

you can pick-up an activity log by emailing Annalisa at amazza2@springfield.edu.

Okay, I’ve registered. How do I log my steps?

I’ve completed the challenge - how do I submit my steps?

  • You will submit your ‘Employee Wellness

Activity Log’ with your steps tallied for each week, along with your cumulative steps taken.

  • All activity logs can be given to any of the

following staff:

  • Maureen Naglieri (Administrative

Assistant, Campus Recreation)

  • Kristen Brosius
  • Anna Mazza (Graduate Assistant)
  • All activity logs should be submitted no later

than Friday, May 10th.

PRIZES!

  • The top 3 participants with the

highest number of total steps will receive prizes.

  • The top department/team with

the highest average step count will a prize.

  • Participants who submit steps

for at least 50 days will also receive a prize.

  • Please note that these are not high end

pedometers - we recommend that you use a more reliable tracking device (i.e. Fit Bit, Apple Watch, Garmin, etc.).

Campus Recreation.
