• VASTHU means dwelling or reside
• SASTRA means science
• Indian art of placement
• Indian science of construction /architecture

What is Vasthu Sastra?

• Vasthu Sastra, better known as Indian Feng Shui is an

ancient science of construction which is over 5,000 years old.

• It can be used in modern times to achieve balance with

cosmic forces to attain harmony, good health, prosperity and happiness.

What is Vasthu based on?

• It is based on arrangements and balancing of the five

elements in their proper order and proportions.

• It focuses on the placement of weights on the floor of a

property.

When is Vasthu required?

• Vasthu consultation or rules must be observed when

purchasing or renting or designing a house.

problems and challenges or disharmony at home or place of work.

residents of the house must be avoided or plastered over immediately.

• The back door should be directly opposite the main door

i.e the front and the back door should fall in one line.

Windows

• The total number of windows in the house should be in

even numbers (e.g. 2,4,6,8 etc), but should not end with a 0, i.e. 10,20 etc.

• Have more windows in the N and E as compared to S and

W.

• Balcony should be in the E or N as compared to S or W.
• If balcony is in SW, fill up with potted plants.
• If balcony is in SW, cover with a collapsible gate or close

with venetian blinds or a wooden curtain.
