  2. Why?  High quality outdoor education:  stimulates and inspires,  foster independence,  aid personal and social development  motivate reluctant learners.  Lea Green Centre offers a range of environments where children can re-energise their appetite to learn.

  3. Where?  Lea Green provides outdoor activities and residential accommodation and is located right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Set within 25 acres of its own grounds in Lea, near Matlock

  4. When?  14 th – 15 th May 2020  Leave school at: 08:45 Prompt (bring children to school at 08:20 – register at 08:35)  Return to school at: Depart Lea Green at 14:00 – children to picked up at 15:15

What?  TYPICAL TIMES FOR THE DAY CHURCH BROUGHTON PRIMARY SCHOOL May Am – 09:30 12.30 pm1 15:45 pm2 18:00 evening 22:00 2020 Treasure Supper/ lights hunt Stream Dinner Soft Play Night Walk 14.05.20 Lunch Room Walk Drink out allocation Low ropes Earthballs & and 15.05.20 Equilibrium parachutes

  6. Practicalities - FOOD Sample residential group menu Breakfast: cooked breakfast, toast and cereals tea, coffee and fruit juice Lunch: lasagne and salad with garlic bread assorted cakes Dinner: roast dinner All dietary requirements will be pear and chocolate crumble with custard catered for.

  7. Practicalities - SLEEP  Dormitories – arrangements made closer to date  Range of rooms – 4 – 12 per room  Girls and boys separate  Staff rooms will be easily accessible in emergencies  Friendship groups will be considered when allocating

Practicalities - EQUIPMENT  A full equipment list will be provided closer to the date.  All specialist equipment/ waterproofs for stream walk are provided by the centre.  Pack with your child  Bound to get wet and mucky – plastic bags/ bin bags  Outdoor and indoor shoes  EVERYTHING NAMED PLEASE  Nothing valuable (phones, electronics)  Bring a teddy

  9. FREE TIME  Won’t be much!  Games room – pool table football  Staff will orientate children – where they can/ can’t go

  10. Practicalities - EMERGENCIES  Fire drill  All doors are locked at night  Children will be shown where emergency exits are  Staff bedrooms  Staff (onsite or at school) – communicate with parents

  11. Practicalities - PAYMENT  Cost - £111.00  Payment plan/ dates:  Deposit of £21.00 per child paid by 1 st February, followed by 3 payments of £30.00 on 1 st March, 1 st April, 1 st May.  Tuck Shop – will be available: maximum of £5.00 per pupil.

  12. Practicalities - COMMUNICATION  Mr Rudge and Mrs Richards – on site with group at all times.  Please contact Mrs Steeples if you have any concerns.  In emergencies – contact Mrs Steeples who will relay messages.  Outside school hours, contact Lea Green – 01629 534561  All emergency contact details available – contact made ASAP.
