Marching Band Logistics

Physicals

ONLY new members who did NOT receive a physical last school year need to complete one.

IF you are returning or are an incoming 9th grader who had a physical last year, you will only need to fill

  • ut a Medical History Form

Eligibility

STILL in effect for extracurricular activites. Grades will be given in all classes! You can lose eligibility in the 6th week and the 9th week. With a later Football season, there will be multiple opportunities to regain.

8 HOUR RULE

UIL Rules allow 8 hours of practice time outside of class time each week once school starts.

These 8 hours include required pre-scheduled rehearsal time.

For schools who begin prior to the last Monday in August, UIL allows additional rehearsal up until Labor Day

The following are not included under the 8 Hour Rule:

◆ Performances ◆ Warm-up for performances ◆ Competitions ◆ Warm-up for competitions ◆ Social time determined by students ◆ Summer Band ■

UIL allows 8 hours for EACH organization that a student is part of (i.e. a student can be in band and choir and rehearse 8 hours a week outside of school time for each organization).
