  2. Proposed Purchase • The sole vehicular access to Glebe Elementary School is from N. Glebe Road via an easement through the property owned by Capital Life Church. • In June, APS became aware that 1721 N. Culpeper Street, adjacent to the Glebe property, was available for sale. • Purchase of this property would permit access for emergency vehicles to and from the APS property. • The Arlington County Real Estate Bureau assisted APS in contacting the listing agent for the property and reached a tentative purchase price of $525,000, subject to approval by the School Board. 2

  4. School Board Policy • School Board approval of the purchase is required in accordance with School Board Policy 50-4 and Policy Implementation Procedure 50-4.1. 4

Superintendent’s Recommendation • Authorize the Chair to execute the Contract, as approved as to form by the School Board Attorney, and authorize the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Operations to sign related documents in connection with closing on the purchase. • Fund the purchase cost of the property of $525,000 plus additional closing and site improvement costs, not expected to exceed an additional $50,000, from the Capital Reserve. 5
