Our Roles – How We Can Help The State The County Communicate that information to Give the go-ahead for each region businesses in Broome County to move from phase to phase Provide the most up-to-date information that we have from the State Issue guidance about which businesses can reopen and when Advocate for Broome County business to be opened ASAP

Flattening the Curve in Broome County What we have done so far: • Operationalized a response team at our Emergency Operations Center (EOC) • Filled healthcare requests for PPE • Issued 11 emergency orders to stop the spread • Limited travel, closed playgrounds, etc. • Set up a contact tracing team to monitor spread • Set up a donation site and collected 750,000+ PPE items • Distributed thousands of tests to hospitals and congregate care settings • Distributed thousands of masks to first responders and the public • Set up over 40 meal sites and distributed 600,000+ meals to students • Worked with regional leaders to meet criteria for reopening

Creating a Plan Per New York State: “Each business and industry must have a plan to protect employees and consumers, make the physical workspace safer and implement processes that lower risk of infection in the business.” WHY? The purpose of the plan is to limit the spread of the disease. If our data fall outside the state guidelines, the State could close our businesses again.
