  2. RATIONALE  2008- CHED embarked on refocusing Philippine higher education into Outcomes- Based Education (OBE).  One of the key institutional metrics of OBE is overall results in licensure examinations  Oct. 2014- First Psychometrician Licensure Examination . Subsequent exams in July 2015 and August 2016.

  3. RATIONALE  RA 8981 -PRC Modernization Act of 2000 directs the commission to monitor the performance of schools in its various licensure examinations as a basis to upgrade the quality of education  PRC publishes performance of schools

  4. RATIONALE  Cambridge dictionary defines PATTERN as “ a particular way in which something is done or organized, or in which something happens ”  businessdictionary.com defines TREND as “a pattern of gradual change in a condition, output, or process, or an average or general tendency of a series of data points to move in a certain direction over time, represented by a line or curve on a graph”

  5. OBJECTIVE  This study aims to surface the patterns and trends in the performance of various higher education institutions in the Psychometrician Licensure Examinations from 2014 to 2016 .

  6. PROBLEM  1. What is the trend in the Licensure Exam for Psychometrician from 2014 to 2016 in terms of Number of first timer examinees 1.1  1.2 Number of repeater examinees  1.3 Total number of examinees  1.4 No. of First Timers who Passed  1.5 No. of Repeaters who Passed  1.6 Total number of Passers  1.7 First Timer Passing rate (%)  1.8 Repeater Passing rate (%)  1.9 National Passing Rate (%)  1.10 No. of First timers who Failed  1.11 No. of Repeaters who Failed  1.12 Total number who Failed 

  7. PROBLEM  2. What is the pattern of the performance of the schools in the aggregated three years of the Licensure Examination for Psychometrician in terms of  2.1 Aggregate number of examinees  2.2 Aggregate number of Passers  2.3 Aggregate passing rate  2.4 Annual passing rate of the schools

  8. PROBLEM  3. What is the pattern in the list of top 10 examinees from 2014 to 2016 in terms of:  3.1 Schools with most number of graduates in the Top 10 list  3.2 Schools with the highest proportion of graduates in the top 10 list

  9. METHOD  Design  Descriptive method utilizing archival data.  Data  The schools are the subjects and unit of analysis.

  10. METHOD  Procedure  Downloaded school performance results of the Licensure Examination for psychometrician from 2014, 2015, and 2016 from the PRC website

  11. METHOD  Procedure  Aggregate data  Ex. School ABC had the following passers over examinees: 10/20 (2014), 15/20 (2015), 25/30 (2016).  This is aggregated to: (10 + 15 + 25) / (20 + 20 + 30) X 100.  The aggregate passing rate is: 50/70 x 100 = 71%  Statistics: Frequencies, percent, Mean

  12. RESULTS 2014 2015 2016 3yrAggregate No. of First timer examinees 3,282 4,156 6,636 14,074 No. of Repeater examinees - 310 676 986 Total Examinees 3,282 4,466 7,312 15,060 No. of First Timer Passed 1,290 1,947 3,444 6,681 No. of Repeater Passed - 114 246 360 Total Passed 1,290 2,061 3,690 7,041 First Timer Passing rate (%) 39.31% 46.85% 51.90% 44.36% Repeater Passing rate (%) - 36.77% 36.39% 36.51% National Passing Rate (%) 39.31% 46.15% 50.46% 47.42% No. of First timer Failed 1,992 2,209 3,192 7,393 No. of Repeater Failed - 196 430 626 Total Failed 1,992 2,405 3,622 8,019

  15. RESULTS  total number of examinees has increased dramatically.  Compared to 2014 as base year, 36% increase in 2015 and 122% in 2016.  15,060 psychology graduates took exams but only 7,041 passed  aggregate national passing rate is 47.42%.  NLE=54.26% Midwif=49.18 Pharm=50.50

  16. RESULTS  Passing rates increasing. NPR in 2014 was 39.31% which slightly increased by about 7 points to 46.15% in 2015 and 13 percentage points to 50.46% in 2016.  First timer passing rates also increasing.  But the repeater passing rate is constant at 36%.  only 16% or 310 out of 1,992 who failed in the 2014 exam repeated in 2015.
