A mission statement, or simply a mission, is a public declaration that schools or other
- rganizations use to describe their founding purpose and major organizational commitments—
i.e., what they do and why they do it. A mission statement may describe a school’s day-to-day
- perational objectives, its instructional values, or its public commitments to its students and
community. A vision statement, or simply a vision, is a public declaration that schools or other educational
- rganizations use to describe their high-level goals for the future—what they hope to achieve if
they successfully fulfill their organizational purpose or mission. A vision statement may describe a school’s loftiest ideals, its core organizational values, its long-term objectives, or what it hopes its students will learn or be capable of doing after graduating.

Mission Statements
Mission Statements focus on today and contain important information about an organization. Mission statements have three elements: CAUSE, ACTIONS AND IMPACT A good definition for a Mission Statement is a sentence or short paragraph which is written to reflect an organizations core purpose, identity, values and principle organizational aims. A Vision is defined as “An image of the future we seek to create - who we are and what we do.” It is a sentence or short paragraph providing a broad, inspirational image of the future. Current Vision Statement

New American Consortium for Wellness and Empowerment “The New American Consortium promotes wellness and empowerment by building bridges among people, bonds between diverse communities, and links to organizations. Value/Belief Statements
Values Statements represent the core priorities in the
- rganization’s culture, including what drives members’ priorities
and how they truly act in the organization, etc. They are the core priorities of the organization and should relate to the Mission and Vision statements. They often drive the intent and direction of an
- rganization.

Example: We value respectful relationships between and among students, staff, parents, and the community. We know that through the development of genuine relationships we will instill a growth mindset where each student can realize their full potential.

Goal 1 The Jamestown school district will revisit and clarify roles and responsibilities of the board of education and school administration and adjust board practice as appropriate. Goal 2 The Jamestown school district will revisit and update plans related to technology and school safety/security. Goal 3 The Jamestown school district will develop and implement a facilities and land master plan that addresses maintenance and upgrading of existing facilities, examines present school configuration, identifies needs for possible new facilities/structures, and ensures that facilities and land are utilized effectively and efficiently. Goal 4 The Jamestown school district will revisit and revise its mission and vision statements and address social/cultural changes. Goal 5 The Jamestown school district will develop and implement a plan to assess and prioritize new staffing needs. Goal 6 The Jamestown school district will develop and implement a plan to review and revise the system for supervising and evaluating all school personnel. Goal 7 The Jamestown school district will develop and implement a plan to assess and prioritize new and existing programs and service needs.
