 What is the point of taking weighted classes if

the universities look at unweighted core GPA?

 Class rank is weighted. Universities and some

scholarships look at both unweighted core course work and weighted class rank.

 Rank in the top 25% of your class OR  Have a 3.0 un-weighted core GPA or better in the 16

core courses OR

 Score a 22 on the ACT or 1120 on the SAT (does not

include writing score). Send scores directly from College Board or ACTstudent.org to colleges.

 No deficiencies in core courses Applicants who don’t meet the above standards may be evaluated and accepted under conditional circumstances.

 Check with your University  Some Universities - SAT Subject Tests (not required by in-state

schools)

 Due to the changes to the SAT, there are almost no differences

between the two exams.

What do I need to do?

 Check dates and registration deadlines

 ACT given 6 times per year  SAT given 7 times per year

 Review test-taking tips  Take practice exams and/or test prep sessions  Tests can be taken multiple times
