  • 11% of trips are people who live in Napa County and work

elsewhere.

  • 9% of trips are pass-through, comprised of people traveling

from home to work, between Solano and Sonoma Counties.

MANAGING CHANGE WILL BE AN ONGOING CHALLENGE

  • ABAG projects Napa County will add over 27,000

new residents by 2040. Nearly half may come from

  • utside California.
  • Growth will bring a need for 5,600 new home and
  • ver 12,000 new jobs…
  • creating new challenges with regards to water

availability, loss of farmland, air quality, climate change, and environmental protection.

  • The majority of Napa residents will be Hispanic or

Latino by 2040, requiring new outreach and participation.

  • The percentage of Napa residents of working age

(defined as 25-64) will drop from 53% to 47%.

  • The County needs wineries to keep

farming profitable and to prevent Napa from being absorbed into the Bay Area metropolitan region.

  • The Cities need wineries to attract visitors

for their growing hospitality industry.

  • The wineries need the County to manage

land use development to ensure that infrastructure is available and to preserve the rural character that brings people here.

  • The wineries need the Cities for their

hospitality industry and to provide workforce housing and services.
