  2. IPoRPR WG Status • Current Charter focused on IP over IEEE 802.17 RPR • WG deliverable is a Framework document outlining requirements and technical approaches • WG objective is to integrate RPR MAC functions, as defined by the IEEE 802.17 WG, with network layer routing. • WG moved from the General Area to a new Temporary Area for sub-IP with S.Bradner & B.Wijnen as ADs • Temp Area intended to be short lived (1-2 years) and will be re-evaluated after the London meeting. 3. IPoRPR Agenda • Agenda Bashing 5 Mins • IEEE 802.17 RPRWG Update - 802.17 WG Status & WG document sharing (A.Herrera) 10 Mins • Presentation & Discussion on IPORPR Framework Doc <draft-ietf-iporpr-framework-00.txt> (R. 5. IEEE 802.17 WG Update • New 802 Project approved by IEEE Standards Board on Dec. 7, 2000 as IEEE 802.17 Resilient Packet Ring Working Group chartered to develop a new standards MAC (Media Access Control) layer for use in packet ring networks • First Plenary held March 12-16, 2001 attended by 166 individuals from over 60 organizations; Sessions included technical presentations, administration, election of officers & motions for 802.17 requirements & objectives • Over 60 motions on requirements & objectives tabled; 25 voted on; the rest will be addressed at the next interim scheduled for May 2001 IETF IPoRPR Mar 2001 IPoRPR Work Group F.Kastenholz; A. 6. IEEE 802.17 WG Update Document sharing between 802.17 RPRWG & IPORPR WG • Procedures will follow existing procedures (as in 802.3) wherein access to 802.17 specifications will be granted on a controlled basis to active IPORPR participants who agree to comply with IEEE document restrictions and regulations.
