What RHG had
I have a dream!
Case study: Martyn Loynes
- Employing local people:
- The 31-year-old was out of work for a year before he got a job
at the factory. During those 12 months Martyn was applying for 10 to 12 jobs each week with little success.
- Martyn was told about the jobs at the factory by his mother
who is a tenant of the Accord Group, who had received a flyer through her door.
- Martyn successfully made it through the recruitment stage and
was offered a position at the factory working on the shop floor.
- “I was over the moon to be offered the job. It’s so nice to start
work in a new factory where everyone is beginning at the same time.
- “Hopefully when I’m 65 I can turn around and say I was here
when the company first started and I’ve been here my whole career.”
Employing local people Case study: Razaq Ayub
- Razaq, from Walsall, was struggling
to maintain a job during the recession.
- His sister received a flyer in the
post about job opportunities at Accord’s factory and passed the details onto him.
- Upon
application, he was successful and now works on the shop floor.
- “I was ecstatic. It was a bit surreal
and I kept thinking is this really happening?”
- “This is the first time that I can
remember being treated by bosses like a friend,” he said. “They are happy to have us and if you have a problem you can go to them, I thought that stuff only ever happened in dreamland.”
