Cyber Security – Security Operations

CANADA’S CYBER SECURITY STRATEGY

PILLAR 1: SECURING GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS

SSC MANDATE

SSC has accountability and responsibility to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability

  • f the information processed and the assets used

to provide email/directories, telecommunications and data centre infrastructure, systems and services for its 43 partners.

Under the Canada Cyber Security Strategy, SSC is responsible for strengthening the security of federal information and information systems by:

  • Establishing a 24/7 capacity for the SSC Security

Operations Centre (SSC-SOC)

  • Bolstering IT security capabilities by creating:

The Information Protection Centre to continuously analyse, assess, and review security related data

A highly specialized IT security incident recovery team

Taking responsibility of the Government of Canada Computer Incident Response Team to coordinate IT security incidents within the greater context of the federal government
