Purpose The Knowledge Management Working Group focuses on the management of ( locally relevant) information, knowledge and expertise related to climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation and the provision of related financial and technical support It aims to • ensure that information on climate change adaptation and mitigation is made available and accessible • strengthen their utilization • develop awareness and education support • strengthen coordination and cooperation

German International Cooperation (GIZ) GIZ is dedicated to support the countries` adaptation efforts through a number of targeted activities in close collaboration with donors (such as German Ministries of Cooperation & Environment, European Union, Australian DFAT, United States USAID, Swiss Government) • GIZ has been supporting the Pacific Climate Change Roundtable (PCCR) and the Pacific Climate Change Portal • GIZ Pacific (CCCPIR, EU-GIZ ACSE, REDD+ II, MACBIO) supported development of a large number of information & educational resources which different thematic areas on CCA/CCM for various target groups

Climate Change Information Flows in Many Rivers • Impacts: The Meteorological Desk @ SPREP • The Pacific Meteorological Council (PMC) has established a number of Expert Panels including on Climate Services • The Pacific Islands Climate Outlook Forum (PICOF) produces Regional Climate Outlook Statements • Adaptation: The Land Resources Division @ SPC • The Centre for Pacific Crops and Trees (CePaCT) collects data and information on ‘climate ready’ crops • Maintains an inventory of national policies and legislation documents on agriculture and forestry • Provides reports on the impact of climate change on food production systems • Captures information on traditional knowledge practices • Mitigation: Greenhouse Gas Inventories & National Contributions (NDCs) • Research: Pace Research Repository @ USP

Updates from the Pacific Met Desk Partnership • Establish the Pacific Meteorological Council (PMC) and 6 Expert Panels including one on Climate Services • Reviewed the Pacific Island Met Strategy 2017-2026 to include climate change science and research • Launched the Pacific Roadmap for Strengthened Climate Services 2017- 2026 aims has identified 7 priority sectors for engagement (Water, DRR, Health, Agriculture, Energy, Fisheries and Tourism) • Establish the annual Pacific Islands Climate Outlook Forum (PICOF). A forum for exchange and learning between the climate community and sectors. • Publish a Compendium of Climate Case Studies • Establish Seasonal Forecasting Capability to support the NMHSs at SPREP • The Pacific Climate Change Center (PCCC)
