 Arrive at school in casual clothes on

Monday/Wednesday morning with bag/suitcase – store in allocated room

 Bring a packed lunch  Leave school by 11.30 am  Arrive at Centre  Activities from Monday/Wed pm – Wed/Friday am  Arrive back on Wed/Friday approx 1.30 pm  Please collect from school at 1.30 or end of the

school day

 6 instructor led activities

including archery, canoeing , zip wire & climbing,

 Evening activities – led by teachers &

2 activities instructor led – weather depending – bonfire & night walk

Relaxation Time

We are the only school group there so we can spread out and enjoy the facilities & unwind (hopefully!) during breaks and on an evening

Accommodation

 Children sleep in dorms  Sleeping bag/quilt  Teachers on same

floors but in separate rooms!

 Shared bathrooms

Food

 You need to supply a packed lunch on

the first day

 All other food is provided.  Breakfast is cereal, toast etc  Lunches – children help make this

themselves on the morning

 Hot dinner  Hot chocolate and biscuits at night  No food to be brought by children

Safety First

 Local authority approved provider  All risk assessments are on the Horstead website –

 All instructors CRB checked  Ratio of staff to children & instructor  Senior teacher on each visit  First Aiders – all our staff & centre staff  Insurance

Kit list

It will be cold – layer up

Plenty of socks

Slippers/indoor shoes

Jeans can be difficult to dry out

Bin liner

Children to help you pack so they know what to repack

Teddy (small!) & book if they want to read

1 large holdall or small suitcase & back pack

Please label everything.

And not to bring….!

 No mobile phones  No ipods, tablets, MP3 players, games

consoles etc

 No jewellery except watches/studs  No expensive cameras  No more than £10 spending money

Staying in contact….

 We know and understand you may be

anxious

 Updates on the website and twitter  If there is a problem we will ring you/

children overly upset

 Behaviour alert – if a child’s behaviour

is not acceptable and/or disrupts the experience for others, parents will be asked to collect their child

Reminders

 All forms must be returned ASAP (ideally

tomorrow!) if you have not already done so.

 Any worries come and talk  If your child requires any medication a medicines

form needs to be completed and medicine (including inhalers) brought in before the visit. (by Monday 14th November)

 They will have a great time!
