  2. College Credit Plus What is College Credit Plus? College Credit Plus replaces Ohio’s Post -Secondary Enrollment Options and all Dual Enrollment programs. CC+ was signed into law on June 16, 2014 and is operational for the 2015-2016 • school year. • There are two fundamental conditions of CC+ 1. A student must be enrolled in both college and high school. 2. The course must be college level and apply toward a degree or certificate (no developmental courses).

  3. College Credit Plus WHY College Credit Plus? Only 5% of Ohio high school students are currently participating in dual credit programming. College Credit Plus establishes clear pathways for high school students to earn college credit. Increasing the number of college and career ready students in Ohio • Ultimately having a positive impact on Ohio’s workforce • Offering incredible financial savings to earn college credit at no cost to • the students

  4. What is College Credit Plus? College Credit Plus College Credit Plus is open to students in grades 7 through 12 who are deemed college ready. All public high schools must participate in College Credit Plus. • High schools must develop pathways, in partnership with Ohio’s colleges, of 15 and 30 credit hours leading toward a degree or certificate. All nonpublic high schools may participate. No eligible student may be denied participation.

  5. College Credit Plus College Credit Plus Cost There is no no cost cost to to students students participating in College Credit Plus. Tuition and book charges will be handled at the state level between the high school and the college. What does that mean to you? At a COTC tuition cost is $179 per credit hour, if a student takes a three credit hour class it would typically cost $537 – but through College Credit Plus there is no cost to the student. SO…. 12 to 15 credit hours would be a savings of $2,148 30 credit hours would be a savings of $4,300 and would equal about the first year of an associate degree .
