Start of my journey. At the start of my journey my weakness was independence because I always asked a teacher before I tried the task myself. What have I learnt? I have learnt that effective communication is important because if you don’t communicate to your team you wont get anywhere!!! What’s next for me? I need to improve on my creative skills because I am not great at coming up with creative ideas.

Start of the residential I think at the start of the residential I needed to improve on my team work. What I have learnt I have learnt to communicate better by making sure I communicate effectively and listen to people. What I want to look at next? To become a better team learner.

The start of my journey At the start of my journey I lacked my teamwork, ressilience and communication skills. On the first day I didn’t know what to expect the only thing I knew was we were canoeing. What have i learnt? I have learnt how to work more effectively as a team and communicate more. On learning to learn day although we won, that wasn't because we were

  • perfect. The reason we won we won because we are a good team.

How are we going to use this? I think that we could use these skills in many ways. One by when we have to do work in groups from now on our cooperation skills will be better because

  • f the residential.

  • At the start of the journey I was not very

confident with being independent as I like to work in teams

  • Over the last two days I have changed and

have become more independent by being able to read a map independently and take lead of a group by using the route cards.

  • At the start of my journey my weakness was in

team building because I found it hard to work with other people.

  • I have learnt that if you work on your own you

will not get that far as if you work as a team our are more likely to be successful.

  • What's next for me?
  • After the team building exercises that we did and

the team journey yesterday I have become a more effective communicator improving my independent skills.

  • At the start of my journey I wasn’t very good

at working in a team. However on Tuesday we learnt more about team work. This let us get through all the activities over the last two

  • days. I have learnt about communicating

effectively, making me better at teamwork. I think I can still improve more by planning and thinking before starting a task making sure we are prepared.

  • At the start I found the knots hard.
  • I was resilient, I didn’t give up , I now know

reef knots.

  • I hope to use the experience to continue to try

my best.

  • At the start of my journey I was more

independent and was not so good at communicating in a team.

  • I have learnt that effective team communication

is more important than I thought. I have found that working in a team allows us to be much more successful. I feel I still that I need to continue to work hard at my listening skills.

  • I would also like to improve on thinking about
  • thers, not just myself.

  • At the start I was held back by weakness like staying

away from home.

  • As a team communication was hard, we didn’t listen

and did lots of things instead.

  • I have learnt that although my new experiences can be

scary, they can have good consequences. If I didn’t come on this residential I would not of become as

  • independent. My team have learnt that we need

effective communication to win.

  • After this I will try to stay away from home more to

build up my confidence.

  • I am glad I came, it was a great experience.

  • At the start I was not a great team player, as I

found it hard to get involved.

  • When we did the activities on the field I saw

how you could become an effective team.

  • Now that we completed the walk and the river

canoe journey I feel we know what makes a good team and we can succeed.

  • At the start of my journey my weakness was

teamwork as I usual work on my own.

  • I have learnt that working in a team leads us

to success and helps us understand how to work better as a team. What's next for me? Team learning – because I still need to improve how to work well in a team because I wasn’t communicating effectively all the time.
