Otter created work groups on HIX and Medicaid expansion

• Late October 2012:

HIX work group recommended an Idaho based exchange; and non- profit entity model

Idaho Work Group

• November 16, 2012: declare intent of Idaho based,

state-federal partnership, or federally facilitated model

• (New) December 14, 2012: submit plan, or blueprint,

for state based exchange

• (New) February 15, 2013: submit application for state-

federal partnership exchange

• October, 2013: open enrollment begins
• January 1, 2014: effective date of coverage for policies
