slide-4
SLIDE 4

4

Golden Glades Interchange currently carries is over 400,000 vehicles per day with direct impacts on regional travel within the tri-county area

Travel demand within the interchange is projected to increase by approximately 50% by the 2040 year

Critical movements experiencing heavy congestion with insufficient capacity include:

1. SR 826 EB to I-95 NB 2. Turnpike SB to I-95 SB

Key Features

1. Provide a direct connection from SR 826 EB to I-95 NB that consists of a reverse S-curve alignment 2. Widen the Turnpike Connector to provide two lanes from the Turnpike SB merging with the SR 826 EB to I-95 SB traffic 3. Replace the SR 826/NW 167th Street WB to I-95 SB ramp bridge to accommodate direct flyover connection ramp and SR7/US 441 NB lanes 4. Replace the SR 826 Connector Bridge over the direct flyover connection ramp and SR 7/US 441 NB lanes 5. Provide signalized dual left turn lanes from SR 826 EB to Turnpike NB 6. Widen I-95 SB from interchange to NW 151st Street to accommodate additional lane from Turnpike Connector 7. Provide connection from NW 163rd Street to NW 17th Avenue and widen NW 17th Avenue from NW 161st Street to SR 826. Access to SR 826 at NW 12th Avenue and NW 167th Street is removed 8.
