Which should it be: COMING to Church or BECOMING the Church????

1. EQUIPPED Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV) "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry . . . "
Our Goal . . . PEOPLE EQUIPPED TO SERVE

Ephesians 4:7 "But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.”

1. EQUIPPED
2. EDIFIED “. . . For the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:7
Ephesians 4:16 (NKJV) "joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love."
Romans 14:19 "Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification."
Romans 15:2 Work for the good of your neighbor “to build him up”
1 Corinthians 14:3 "But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
1 Corinthians 14:4 "He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church."
1 Corinthians 14:15 "I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy . . . unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified ."
Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up ("edify") according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
What does it mean for us to be the Body of Christ in this world?
3. EMPOWERED “speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head; Christ” Ephesians 4:15
Acts 4:13 "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus."
