Cape Town Visit to Bilbao – November 2017
Knowledge immersion :
- Bilbao’s urban transformation process
underlining that the cooperation between different public administrations, through Bilbao Ria 2000, was critical to the success of Bilbao’s urban development.
- CIMUBISA (a municipal public entity), shared Bilbao’s Smart City Strategy
- Bilbao Ekintza (municipal public entity) -
Bilbao’s approach of boosting economic and social development through knowledge sharing, innovation and creativity.
- Deusto - Katedra process and Methodology 360º works as a tool to help
understand and create solutions for urban challenges
- ZAWP (Zorrotzaurre Art Work in Progress) - artists and creative industries
programmes to generate positive social and economic change. Field visits :
- Coastal area: Sopelana beach, La Galea, Getxo and Las Arenas. At La
Galea the construction process of new port facilities , "Puente Colgante" (Transporter Bridge) a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Mount Artxanda
