  6. Agenda • 35 minutes: Panel Discussion • 10 minutes: Audience Q&A http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  7. Question • Please give us an overview of your organization and role. http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  8. Question • Let’s start off with a definition of innovation. Is it difficult to define? Do you think if you asked 10 CIOs, you'd get 10 different definitions? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  9. Question • How do IT leaders become innovative? How do you get started? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  10. Question • How can IT leaders get others around them to embrace innovation — their C-suite colleagues, board, IT employees and clinicians? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  11. Question • Talk about what we can call "advanced innovation" — incubators, formal programs, etc. What are some starting points? What's some advice for launching and running advanced programs? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  12. Question • How can CIOs be innovative when they may feel 100 percent of their time is taken up with things they absolutely have to get done? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  13. Question • Are there particular areas or functions under a healthcare CIO's purview that cry out for innovation? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  14. Question • If we look at a process that's not producing the results we expect or want, how do we know if the process just needs to be followed more closely or if we need a different process (if we need to innovate)? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  15. Question • I've heard CIOs say their organizations can only absorb so much change at once. Can we overdo innovation — can we overload our organizations if we're not careful about it? • If innovation is never finished, as I would assume it isn't, how can we pace ourselves? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  16. Question • Is innovation expensive? It is something you need to budget for? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  17. Question • What do we think about the role of a Chief Innovation Officer? If there is one in an organization, how does that effect the CIO role? How does a CIO not get offended if the organization wants to bring in a Chief Innovation Officer? How can the two roles work well together? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  18. Question • Talk about the idea of replicating innovation successes — how can we take something that worked in one area and bring it into another? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  19. Question • Jonathan — tell us about some of the things CHIME Innovation is working on. • How can CIOs get involved with CHIME Innovation? http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  20. Question • Talk about the idea of crowdsourcing or "reverse" innovation — where you say, "I have a problem … who’s got an idea?" http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  21. Question • Ask a co- panelist … http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  22. Question • Please offer a key challenge for listeners. What do you challenge them to go back to their health systems and do – as pertains to our area of discussion today – which will improve how IT supports patient care, business operations or both. http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat

  23. Question • Please offer some final thoughts, advice or lessons learned. http://healthsystemcio.com/presentation/innovation- webinar.pdf TweetChat @ #HSCIOchat
