§ 𝑃(1 𝑜𝑡) synchronisation within detector module § 𝑃(1 𝑛𝑡) synchronisation between detector modules → SNB trigger § 𝑃(1 𝜈𝑡) absolute accuracy → beam instrumentation sync § Fan-out timing signals to SP detector § Provide timing signal to DP detector White Rabbit network § Timestamp beam instrumentation signals on SPTS clock domain

§ GPS disciplined oscillator provides 10 MHz clock § Based around a master timing card hosted in a

𝜈TCA crate

§ Clock distributed to 12 fan-out cards using 𝜈TCA

backplane (dual-star topology)

§ Each fan-out card hosts 2 timing FMCs § Each FMC has four optical connectors § 12×2×4 = 96 optical outputs

– 1:8 optical splitters → 96×8 = 768 fibres

§ Develop prototype for ProtoDUNE run 2 (2021)
