All Graduate PLUS loans will be completed online through the Federal Student Loan web
site: https://studentloans.gov
You may be required to complete a Grad PLUS entrance counseling session also. Follow the instructions to apply for the Grad PLUS loan. This is a credit worthy loan, and
could be denied due to adverse credit. (If you need an endorser, information will be available online to proceed with further documentation)
Drake Student Financial Planning Office will receive your application electronically and will
contact you if additional information is required. Drake Student Financial Planning Office will originate your application and electronically forward back to Department of Education for final approval.
Federal Direct (unsubsidized Loan will continue to be completed via paper form. (review
your 2019-20 award packet for appropriate documents.
After certification of your loans by the Student Financial
Planning Office, your funds will arrive electronically on the first day of classes.
Funds will first be posted to your billing for the entire summer
expenses, and then any additional funds remaining will be directly deposited to your personal account via electronic transfer by the Student Accounting Office.
Be prepared: Funds may not show up in your account
immediately, depending on the timing of fund transferred, and the completion of all paperwork.
It is your responsibility to make sure your paperwork is
completed prior to leaving.
