Volunteer Information Check-In Information • Report to the Gold Check-In tent at least 15 minutes prior to your registration time • One check-in location: The Quad (area between Fletcher Hall and the Library) • Check in Process: Each volunteer will sign a waiver, get volunteer gift and lunch wristband • Green Wristbands: 10:45am Lunch group • Blue Wristbands: 11:45am Lunch group • Gold Wristbands: 12:45pm Lunch group
Volunteer Information Once You’re At Your Location • Check in with your Volunteer Coordinator (in dark grey shirts) • Welcome students/parents as they arrive — a smile and hello make a great first impression! Help answer questions about campus and OMI! • We will have security and volunteers working the parking lots and requesting cars to move after their allotted 20 minute unloading time expires. • Remind students and parents to move their cars after they have finished their 20 minute unloading time. This will make more room for those coming later in the day. • Note: • Students with Even numbered rooms move in 9am-Noon • Students with Odd numbered rooms move in 1pm-4pm
Volunteer Information Day-Of Information • Dress comfortably – You must wear your OMI Volunteer t-shirt • May wear appropriate shorts-it will be hot! • Wear comfortable, durable, closed-toe shoes • Things to Bring: • Hat • Sunscreen • Raincoat • Water bottle • Bug spray
Volunteer Information Guidelines • Please stay until your shift is over and let your Volunteer Coordinator know when you’re leaving your post • If you have any questions or problems that arise report to your Volunteer Coordinator • Emergencies/EMT: • Medical Emergencies contact 423-425-HELP as well as the Volunteer Coordinator • Non-medical emergencies contact Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Information Resources • Volunteer Coordinator (who has Resource card, maps, etc.) • Parking Information • Lunch • Each volunteer will be assigned a specific lunch time, based on the color wristbands distributed at check-in. Lunch will be issued at the check-in tent. • Some groups will get lunch before their shift and others will get their lunch after their shift has ended. • Moving Carts/Hand Carts • Each Residence Hall will have their own moving carts with a check-in system
