CBA and DMC

There are two areas where Community- based Aid may overlap with DMC:

  • 1. Specific programs designed to address
  • ver represented groups;
  • 2. Community Planning should be

conducted around relevant data points. Especially for counties that fund system improvement.

Funding individual programs is not the same as addressing systemic disproportionate contact.

Cultural Programs vs DMC

slide-5
SLIDE 5

Cultural programs do not fulfill DMC

  • Cultural programs at best target a

specific point in the system, and/ or a specific group.

  • While this is worthwhile and important,

it does not address the systematic issues that drive DMC.

County-level System Points

The Comprehensive Juvenile Service Planning process may be a process where communities can examine DMC Patterns. This would enhance planning efforts!

CBA Funds: System Improvement Funding should direct the county using data about the system. Often these are the persons who write the Comprehensive Juvenile Services Plan

County-level Data

JJI sent the request out to roughly 40 county/ county leads and only 1 person could access their data. JJI began pulling some of the data (see samples from years past) and we have not been able to access accurate race data across system points.
