The International Guardianship Network (IGN) is a non-profit, non-governmental
- rganization dedicated to provide information, training, and academic exchange to profession-
als, curators, carers of people with disabilities and dependency, family members, volunteers and all those linked to the tasks of support, assistance and representation of people of legal age, in the legal, political, economic or social field. It is made up of local and national, private and public
- rganizations, as well as people who are supporters, curators, professionals, judicial servant,
magistrates, volunteers and policy makers in this area, from all over the world. The institution works within the framework of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN, 2006) and the Inter-American Conven- tion on the Protection of the Human Rights of Older Persons (2015). Therefore, it supports the realization of innovative projects, the development of workshops, seminars, or congresses, and any other activity that strengthens and extends its application throughout the world. http://www.international-guardianship.com/index.htm

GENERAL GOALS
- 1. To deepen the understanding of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities standards and those of the Inter-American Convention on the Protection of the Human Rights of the Elderly in relation to the daily exercise of rights.
- 2. Foster interaction and exchange of information and experiences among experts, suppor-
ters, assistants, guardians and representatives of the elderly and adults with disabilities, non-governmental organizations, public institutions, judges and authorities worldwide.
- 3. Link people, non-governmental organizations and public policy makers with private com-
panies interested in developing products, which improve the lifestyle of adults and elderly with disabilities, who require support and care.
- 4. Set up a Latin American network on Adult Guardianship among with adults and elderly with
disabilities who need support and care, experts, authorities and entrepreneurs, who expand the possibilities of applying the both Conventions standards.
