Mental Health Highlights

  • In the three years presented, the rate
  • f suicide has decreased from 41.8 per

100,000 to 16.8. This is still above the national and state rates.

  • During the time period, those persons

who died by suicide were Cacasian and predominately male.

  • The means by which suicide victims

dies is mostly with firearms.

  • While improving, Jefferson County

remains a mental health professional shortage area.
