XBRL IS MORE DEFINED IN MANAGEMENT REPORTER

XBRL, based on XML, is designed to facilitate the electronic communication of business and financial data. Increasingly regulatory bodies (such as the SEC) are requiring organizations to provide their financial reports in XBRL format. Management Reporter takes the complexity out of XBRL by allowing the end user to start with the same building blocks used for core financials, and easily tag them for XBRL reporting. The user only has to go through the tagging exercise once, and thereafter exporting financial reports into XBRL format is as simple as generating a conventional report in Management Report

UPGRADING TO MR

  • FRX available until GP Version 12
  • There’s a wizard for that
  • But you need to clean out old reports

– Clean out any rows, columns, trees, – Clean out any catalogs you are not using – Clean out any test or duplicate reports – Right now effective dates are not included.

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN MR

– Formatting in MR

  • Can add images such as logo’s to reports
  • You can add page breaks on the column area. You

would use this on a trended report such as a 12 month report

  • Undo Button – FINALLY
  • Instead of Wildcard being ????, can now use *
  • Can right click row, column, tree and find out where it is

being used.

  • Tree can now add ranges and subtract ranges
slide-16

REPORT LIBRARY

– Report Library in MR

  • Can generate to different report locations and can add

security to those locations

  • Reports have history of when reports are generated. So

you can look back to previous versions of the report.

  • Can also add other reports such as Excel or Word

reports to the report library (don’t have to own report manager).

MULTICURRENCY

– Currency translating is coming out with feature pack 1 – Saw a demo of this

  • Translation will pull from GP and you add the currency

to the column of the report. Really simplified the currency translation process

slide-18
SLIDE 18

NOT AVAILABLE IN MR

  • 1. MULTICURRENCY
  • 2. ANALYTICAL ACCOUNTING
  • 3. MULTI-DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS
  • 4. FORECASTER
