Mission

Swim Wales’ performance mission is to systematically produce swimmers capable of progressing onto the British Swimming Pathway and winning medals at the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games.

Strategic Aims

1. Provide a Swim Wales Performance Pathway that actively supports the systematic development of swimmers with the skills necessary for success at Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. 2. Provide a day to day training environment throughout Wales that supports and encourages the appropriate development of swimmers in line with the performance objective. 3. Develop a coaching and Sport Science team with the knowledge, character and arena skills to consistently deliver World Class standards in both the day to day environment and the Swim Wales Performance Pathway. 4. Deliver a competition programme that actively supports the progressive competitive needs of swimmers as they move through the Performance Pathway.

Key Objectives

Provide a progressive National Squad programme of training camps and competitions Actively support the network of High Performance Centres and Performance clubs Deliver a coach and Sports Science staff development programme that develops a wider cohort of coaches and Sport Scientists with World Class knowledge, skills and behaviours Deliver an efficient, effective, innovative and athlete focused Sports Science programme Provide a domestic and international competition programme that provides appropriate competitive experiences for performance and high performance swimmers.
