Instructor Workload Training Upon completion of this course, you should be able to: • Add a FT instructor to a class as their first inload and with default points • Add an Academic Org to an instructor’s list of “Approved Courses” in the instructor/advisor table • Add a FT instructor to a class as inload with additional points for large class size as overload • Add multiple instructors to class with one meeting pattern • Add two instructors to class with two meeting patterns 3

Key Process Changes and Impacts Current Process New Process Instructor workload is calculated in points Instructor workload will remain calculated in points ASTRA to Odyssey entry of instructor assignments is MDConnect Instructor Workload is unitary. There is no delayed by an overnight lag time lag time as there is in Odyssey/ASTRA and ASTRA/Odyssey. ASTRA has point limit hard stops MDConnect Instructor Workload has no hard stops. Point limits must be maintained manually and via Instructor Workload Variance Reports. 5

  7. Workflow Class is created or rolled over in Semester Schedule of Classes by College Registrar Instructor exists in MDConnect and has taught recently in your department Attach instructor to class and assign default points 7

  8. Navigation: Main Menu > Curriculum Management > Schedule of Classes > Schedule Class Meetings You need to navigate to the Schedule Class Meetings screen to add a an instructor to a class. Follow the navigation below. 8

The default instructor role is Primary Instructor , the other is Secondary Instructor. Do not select Teaching Assistants. 3. For the Access drop-down menu, always select Approve . In some instances, Secondary Instructors may be given the Grade option. 15

At this point in time you must enter an MDID or an SSN. EmplID lookup will be added to the Faculty Credentials System. Lauren Birden is approved to teach ENC1101, 1102, 1112, and 1113. 20
