What is the Baby Friendly Initiative?

  • The Baby - Friendly Initiative™ (BFI) is

a joint global campaign of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative provides a plan to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.

  • The BFI provides guidelines for optimal

care within health services for all babies and mothers.
