BASRECCS objective: To help enable at least one full-scale CC(U)S project go live in the Baltic Sea Region by 2030, followed by network of CC(U)S projects by 2040; by working closely with industry, research and others to:

  • 1. promote CCS and CCUS;
  • 2. build tools for and facilitating networking;

communication and collaboration;

  • 3. contribute to and facilitate for capacity building through

education and dissemination; and

  • 4. initiate and facilitate projects and activities.

Preliminary action plan to meet the BASRECCS objective:

  • Arrange an annual Baltic Carbon Forum;
  • Being an active part of the EU BSR strategy and work closely with the

newly established ministerial CCUS network;

  • Follow, facilitate and report on CCUS projects, activities and events;
  • Collaborate with international clubs and associations for CCUS; and
  • Build a presence in the region through meetings with key

stakeholders and participation to events like TCCS-10, CO2Geonet Open Forum, Biannual Conference on Negative CO2 emissions etc.

Action plan 2019

  • Arrange the Baltic Carbon Forum in September-October;
  • Develop the collaboration with the newly established ministerial

CCUS network;

  • Provide input for the new European Union strategy for the Baltic Sea

Region;

  • Follow, facilitate, and report on CCUS projects, activities and events;
  • Establish dialogue with the Norwegian CCUS Association and other

international clubs and associations for CCUS;

  • Initiate a study on the potential to store Baltic CO2 emissions in the

Norwegian full-scale infrastructure; and

  • Present at TCCS-10
