What is AGE Platform Europe?

Research Projects

  • AGE is involved in a number of

European projects in relation to ageing. Main topics: health, mobility, new technology

  • Project objectives: independent living in old age: accessible

environments, healthy ageing + sustainable quality healthcare

  • Objective of AGE involvement: fostering older people’s

involvement (user involvement) in research, design and development of those projects to ensure they will meet older people’s actual needs.

WHO definition:

  • ‘Active ageing’ = the process of optimizing opportunities for health,

participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age
