The “orange” is the representative color for dementia awareness raising activities in Japan.

Dementia Supporter Training Lecture

“New Orange Plan”

Basic plan for dementia by Japanese government These are the orange wristbands!  90 minute awareness raising courses  distribute orange wristbands “The Dementia Supporter Training Lectures”

by“Caravan Mate” that we conduct

WHAT IS DEMENTIA FRIENDLY SOCIETY?

Caravan Mates pass on knowledge about dementia to Dementia Supporters

Caravan mates are specially authorized to take training courses. The courses target doctors and nurses who know dementia well, carers and care managers, as well as families with nursing experience, etc.

Dementia Supporter Training Lectures to students at our college

Many students came to listen to the lecture. Talking time with a woman who experienced Nursing care for their Family living with dementia.

Dementia Supporter Training Lectures at hospitals

Discussing with hospital staff members, especially nurses. We are answering questions from a participant.

Dementia Supporter Training Lectures at a local elementary school.

Many students actively participated in the lecture.

Various activities in the community (at YOISA community partnership type day service). People of various ages living with dementia are actively helping out the community.

This is continuing over 23 years.

A big event in which many people (people with dementia, their family members, supporters and any interested community members) participate.
