Ak’ Tenamit and the ROTARY FLOATING DENTAL CLINIC

14 years ago…. a houseboat was retrofitted as a Rotary Floating Dental Clinic with the support of the Brooksville Rotary Club. The clinic currently has a local full-time dental promoter and serves as a base for visiting teams of dentists and dental technicians. Over the years the Rotary Floating Dental Clinic suffered from the elements and heavy use.

GUATEMALA 2017

‘Guatemala 2017’ is planned for February 2017.

A two week project involving two dental teams visiting remote villages in Guatemala. San Gabriel is a poor village with some of the worst dental problems that we’ve seen in our 16-year history in

  • Guatemala. A large number of children are in constant

pain, as witnessed by our teams over the past two years during needs assessments. Dental care in the Rio Dulce region has been poorly

  • addressed. The living conditions are poor and access to

adequate and affordable dental care is deplorable. We will be treating indigenous Mayan children.
