QUALITY ASSURANCE

We at CENTURY Procure raw materials from reputed suppliers preferably from

  • riginal source of manufacture. We use fabrics form SRF, OLBO, MIT. Other

important raw materials like carbon form PCBL, HITECH; Acclerator, Vulcanizing Agents antioxidants from BAYER, NOCIL/PIL, MERCHEM etc. Thorough internal checks of each and every incoming materials are done in QUALITY CONTROL LAB and then materials are released for production . All mixed , semi finished and finished materials are tested as per best practices. QAP and records are made available at each and every point of production. A) Our mixing of compounds are done in enclosed chamber. B) We have four station building table which maintains uniform tension in all the plies assembled together. C) Wide range of belt curing presses are available with pre-stretching

  • arrangements. We can produce width from 200 mm to 2400 mm.

D) Versatile fully computerized UTM available for belt strength and elongation checks. E) Ageing ovens are equipped with time and temperature recording system. F) DIN Abrasion test machine is made available for checking wear resistance properties of cover compounds. G) Rheometer is available to check mixed compounds rheo-logical behaviour. H) For F.R. belt test we are equipped with drum friction test, flame cabinet and surface resistivity test apparatus. We have a fully equipped test laboratory for in-house development and design activities. We at CENTURY Procure raw materials from reputed suppliers preferably from

HANDLING & STORAGE OF CONVEYOR BELT AT SITE

Do not drop the roll of belting from the transporting vehicle. When off loading rolls or drums of belting, use skids or crane to avoid risk or damage of gouging the cover or damaging the edges The belt should be stored in the original packing(provided by the manufacturer) in an upright position, until required for use. The belt roll should be suspended where possible by means of a bar through its center with the bar parallel to the ground. If the roll is unpacked, a piece of board or any separator must be placed between the slings to protect the belt edges. Belt edges in contact with the floor may prove detrimental to belt life. When the drum is taken out for use the direction of rolling the reel should be the same as the winding direction of the belt in order to avoid loosening of the roll. If an unpacked belt is to be moved by rolling, the roll must be rotated in the same direction as that is which the belt was rolled up. Otherwise, the belt may get displaced and the roll becomes telescopic, thus making it difficult to hang the roll onto the unrolling trestle/stand. The ideal place is a cool, dark room, free from moisture, heat or frost. Contact with all types of oils, solvents and corrosive liquids should be avoided. Ozone generated from ultra violet light of electric welding and electric substations also accelerates the ageing

  • f natural rubber through oxidation. Hence, the belts should not be placed near an ozone

generating source. Heat, direct or indirect sunlight, promotes oxidation of natural rubber. Thus, windows in storage rooms should be painted red or red-yellow, and belting should not be stored near steam pipes, generators or motors. Used belts should be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to storage. Do not drop the roll of belting from the transporting vehicle. SPECIAL & IMPROVED HEAT RESISTANT BELTS

We have developed Thermo Shield-250 Grade of belting for carrying material of temperature 220°c – 250°c continuous and occasional peak load can have temperature upto 350°c (red hot on fine beds are also acceptable).

Material like clinker, sinter, burnt lime can be carried without any crack formation on cover during its service period. The carcass inter ply compound is so designed that it provides superior bond strength between plies and cover to ply to resist ply and cover separation / ballooning in carcass as the high temperature ageing drop is designed to minimum.

These types of belts are designed to restrict crack formation on cover which eliminates choking of belt return path from spillage of fine materials within the cracks on belt surface.

The usage of high melting point special fabric and heat resistant special polymers keep in flex fatigue to a minimum level in high heat exposure.

Even in our normal HR-150°c application belts, we offer cover ageing condition 125°c for 168 hours rather than IS – 1891 (ii) specification 125°c for 72 hours maintaining the ageing drop same as specified max in IS 1891(ii). This improved cover compound design takes care of uncertainty of material temperature coming on belt to some extent and delay the crack initiation of cover for HR-120 and HR-150 Gr. Belts.
