  3. COV-19 Pandemic ic Protocol • Stage # 1- Prevention and Mitigation Prevention involves the capabilities necessary to avoid, deter or stop an incident, and action taken to prevent a threatened or actual incident from occurring. Mitigation means taking steps to reduce the impact. • Stage # 2 - Planning and Preparedness The continuous cycle of planning and organizing in response to readiness capabilities • Stage # 3 - Protection and Intervention The capabilities we have to secure the situation. • Stage # 4 - Response The reaction to the occurrence and management of our resources during the incident. • Stage # 5 - Recovery The activities beyond the emergency period with a focus on restoring critical functions.

COV-19 Pandemic ic Protocol • Currently in Response Stage due to Government Mandate • Initiate Incident Command System at administrative level • Identify and report daily the number of staff and student absences • Make preparations for possible school closures • Maintain frequent communication with public health agencies • Evaluate students and staff with symptoms • Isolation • Treatment • Report • Monitor • If possible, use one bus for those who are sick • Exclude until symptom free

COV-19 Pandemic ic Protocol • Undertake disinfecting all high profile touch points • Deliver meals to predetermined distribution points using Food Service and/or Transportation. • Suspend all extra-curricular activities • Sports • Field Trips • Travel • Maintain frequent and consistent communication with parents and staff on possible closures and other measures • Institute home-based learning opportunities • Create a work from home policy for eligible employees with consideration to technology limitations (Schedule)

  6. COV-19 Pandemic ic Protocol • Distribute disinfectant to sites • Use protective equipment in transportation of students • Custodial Staff utilizing a Hot Shot Team to assist school sites • Secure premises in any school closure • Post notice of closure • Make sure school is properly secured • Document critical actions taken during the pandemic • Assign personnel to track costs associated to the school/district • Request recalls from approved leave for essential personnel

  7. Food Service Dis istr trib ibutio ion TUSD Grab & Go Mobilized Meals • 12 bus routes with 8-13 stops per route • Routes will run 10:00am-1:00pm, with 10 minutes at each stop • Grab & Go Meal Service at each stop • 2 meals provided at once- Lunch plus Breakfast (for the next day) • Starting Monday, 3/23/20 (will run as long as needed) • Children must be present to receive meal per USDA/ADE requirements (additional meals cannot be provided for children not present)

  8. Food Services  Schedule of all stops and times for TUSD Grab & Go Mobilized Meals will be posted & provided to parents & community Map of Mobilized Meal Routes

  9. Technology S Services • VPN (Virtual Private Network) for Remote Access – Limited number of licenses currently available for people to remote log on concurrently. Working to expand available VPN licenses by Friday 3/20/20 • Key users and functions • Human Resources • Payroll • Procurement • School Safety • Legal • Technology Services • Other departments as needed • Time clock- Reviewing options for staff to account for work hours and time off

Technology S Services • Online Learning • Survey Need for Internet Connectivity and Computers at homes • Assistance with Internet connectivity and deployment of computers • Network content filtering and security • Associated cost based on scope and length of time • 100% Online or Hybrid model • Content Delivery Cloud Platform Options – Office 365, Course Content • Video ad Audio Conferencing platforms • Target group and numbers (HS Seniors - 4K; 9-12 students - 14K, All students - 45K etc…) • Develop student and teacher training guidelines on best practices • Assessment tools – SIS, other • Timeline: March 30, 2020 – End of 19-20 School Year (Potentially)

  11. Human Resources- Personnel • HR is finalizing a list of essential functions • Superintendent • Central Office Positions (HR, Payroll, Finance, Communications, etc.) • School Safety • Technology Services • Operations (Custodial, Maintenance, Warehouse, Mailroom, etc.) • Food Services • Superintendent’s Cabinet and all Directors, Asst. Directors, and GB Office • Risk Manager • Building Administrators

  12. Human Resources- Personnel • All employees will perform work as assigned, either on-site or remotely, or use leave time. • If an employee lacks leave hours then they will work with HR to pursue options. • All employees and leased personnel (including extended placement substitutes designated as teacher of record) will be paid their budgeted FTE hours. • Temporary employees who do not have a regular work schedule, including substitutes, will not be paid but will be allowed to use leave.

  13. Facility Surface Cleaning and Disinfecting High Traffic Touch Points – School Sites • Operations has created a Hot Shot Team that is focused on targeting schools for High Touch Point Disinfecting. • During this time, they will train site custodians on the process to be utilized • Staff will be reviewing soap, toilet paper, and paper towel supplies to ensure each site is fully stocked • Anticipate being able to install closed soap dispensers at all sites to meet the CDC standards • Operations has created a Hot Shot Team to thoroughly clean the restrooms at school sites Tucson Unified will not be utilizing bleach, in any form.

  14. Facility Surface Cleaning and Disinfecting High Traffic Touch Points – Buses • Transportation currently has disinfectant products on sites. • Transportation staff is working through the next two weeks to ensure all buses are thoroughly disinfected. Tucson Unified will not be utilizing Bleach, in any form.
