  7. Part 1 - • Introductions • Where you’re from • Your involvement in lacrosse • How long you have been assigning • Discuss the Part 1 Scenarios • Put the responses on your poster paper • When finished post your poster in the appropriate spot

  8. Part 1 - Topics & Scenarios 1. Discuss how you set fees, and the challenges you face. 2. Discuss how you have handled situation s that involved angry coaches and/or administrators. 3. Discuss how you use assigning to develop your officials and retain them and move them up the “ladder”. Come up with three to five strategies. 4. Discuss assigning tournament. On your poster list a column for challenges and a column for solutions to those challenges. NO CHALLENGES WITHOUT SOLUTIONS! DO NOT FORGET TO RECORD THE KEY THINGS FROM YOUR DISCUSSION ON YOUR POSTERS

  9. Poster Review Walk around the room with your individual post-it pad, reviewing other group’s posters. Use post-its to annotate or make comments on the other posters in the room. Use your phone to take pictures of each groups posters to reference ideas when you get home.

  10. Part 2 - • Certification Discussion • Put the responses on your poster paper • When finished post your poster in the appropriate spot

Part 2 – Certification Discussion Using the information provided and your group’s best thinking, develop a certification program for assigners by answering the below: What are the essential skills/competencies should assigners demonstrate? (TOP 5) 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) What should the requirements be for becoming a certified assigner? List below: Would you charge a fee for your certification program? If no, how would you fund it? What benefits would you give to assigners that achieved certification? How would you fund these benefits? What ongoing education would you require for certified assigners (ie re-certification)? What would be the value or benefits to the lacrosse community by having a national certification program for assigners?
