Zachary Swiney : Family Life

My family life in Germany wasn’t much different than my life here in Arizona. My host family woke up early, ate breakfast together and began their day to their destination of school or work. One thing that was obvious to me was that Germans valued family time and made their together time a priority as soon as work and school was over. My host brother’s name was Peter and whenever he would need to be picked up, he would call one of his parents. Same similarities with my life, where I am usually picked up by my sister or parents The houses were a little different than the homes here in Arizona, as the majority of Germans lived in apartments or duplexes. However, I had my own bathroom, and room, as I do here in Sierra Vista, and the host parents were kind and very well involved in their children’s lives, as my parents are here in Arizona. I found that both families, American and German are very similar and different, but mostly I found that parents love their children and families no matter what country you are from.
