Acts 28:1-6 “ 1 Once we were safely ashore, we learned that the island was called Malta. 2 The islanders showed us extraordinary kindness. They kindled a fire and welcomed all of us because it was raining and cold.
Acts 28:1-6 3 Paul gathered a bundle of sticks, and as he laid them on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself to his hand.
Acts 28:1-6 4 When the islanders saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “Surely this man is a murderer. Although he was saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”
Acts 28:1-6 5 But Paul shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.
Acts 28:1-6 6 The islanders were expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
Our Situation • Some of us are going through difficult trials. • Some of us are even suffering tremendous loss, pain and attack. • Some folks are watching us go through it and waiting for us to fail, die, quit (v.6) • Some folks think we deserve it. (v.4)
Paul was Anointed • He was bound and on his way to trial/prison/death. • He experienced shipwreck. • He was welcomed. • He was bit by a snake. • People waited for him to die. • He “survived.” • He became fruitful. • He suffered some more.
David was Anointed • His trouble started the day he was anointed. • The demons and pride tormenting Saul wanted him dead. • His enemies wanted him off the throne, dead, rendered ineffective. • HIS ANOINTING REMAINED AND FLOWED TO HIS DESCENDENTS.
Jesus Was Anointed • He did not have a life of ease. • Everyone did not love him. • He suffered immensely. • HE CHANGED THE WORLD.
Truth Bomb • We’re not going through despite our anointing. • We’re going through because of our anointing.
You Are Anointed • Your Pastor is Anointed • This Church is anointed • Your seat is anointed • The path that brought your feet through the door is anointed. • The Holy Spirit that moved you here this morning carries that ANOINTING!
John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
YOU ARE ANOINTED!
YOU ARE A THREAT TO HELL!
