WRDC is committed to working with industry stakeholders to create effective diverse workplaces as part of a holistic response to labour shortages and diversity challenges in the trades and technology fields. Through our FREE consultation and professional development services, WRDC works one-on-one with stakeholders to develop long lasting and systematic diversity practices by assessing their individual needs and developing customized recommendations and supports.

Diversity management is a business strategy aimed at tapping the full potential of all employees in the organization with the goal of achieving a competitive advantage. 1-day Workshop includes:
- Self assessments
- Personal objectives
- Comprehensive guide book
- Exercises, discussion questions, and group activities
- Action Plan template
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day)
This diversity workshop for managers and supervisors will:
- provide supervisors with an understanding of workplace diversity issues;
- utline the four cornerstones of diversity: awareness, understanding,
acceptance, and behaviour;
- provides recommended behavioral tools for fostering a more cohesive
workplace; and
- demonstrate how to adopt a management style that encourages diversity
an creates a culture of inclusion.
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day)
Workshop themes include
- defining diversity and inclusion in the workplace and how it affects the
- rganization and individuals;
- identifying stereotypes, harassment, discrimination, and workplace bullying;
- learning about the importance of communication and use of inclusive
language;
- pitfalls to avoid; and
- managing diversity skills and strategies.

By the end of this training, participants should be able to:
- describe the four cornerstones of diversity: awareness, understanding,
acceptance and behaviour;
- identify levels of self-awareness and opportunities for improvement;
- recognize how changes in the world can affect them and their views;
- explain appropriate word choice and the impact of communication;
- recognize stereotypes;
- identify the pitfalls related to diversity and how to avoid them;
- effectively deal with inappropriate behavior; and
- adopt a management style that encourages diversity and inclusion.
