ECFE, ECSE, Eagle Care

 Starting Summer of 2017, preschool-age children could

get full-time child are through Eagle Care program.

 Eagle Care is offered before/after preschool class and

  • n days of a child doesn’t have preschool.

 We currently have 23 children enrolled. 10 are enrolled

with us full-time. 13 are enrolled only before/after their preschool class.

  • National, state and local studies have shown the more

time in preschool, the more school readiness skills that are in place.

  • Full day class is in high demand and is what parents

want.

  • Our program is helping more and more kids in our

district become better prepared for Kindergarten, but we are still not reaching every child with the amount of preschool needed to prepare for Kindergarten. Full day shows much more progress with school readiness skills.

  • Biggest hurdle for parents is cost and transportation.
  • State scholarships have helped with the cost of preschool

for low-income families.

  • To accelerate student progress until students are

competent readers based on the MCA, NWEA, and STAR test results

  • To have in place an intervention system that

accomplishes this acceleration. The intervention system results in individualized planning for each student

  • To continue to support the intervention process until

each student has accelerated his/her reading achievement to the point of competence

  • The Maple River goal for reading instruction is to have

100% of students reading at grade level at the end of grade three.
